Newburgh Artists Group Photo at the DRC

Thanks to Ruedi Hofmann's efforts we now have an image of a group of artists who call Newburgh their creative home, taken in the iconic Dutch Reformed Church (aka Newburgh Lyceum)! We are working to make a suitable presentation of the image on the new website currently under construction. A print of the photo- and individual images shot at the kick-off party at the Newburgh Brewing Company- can be viewed in the gallery at Newburgh Art Supply.

A Great Weekend in Newburgh!

Thanks to all the artists and alternative galleries, this year's Newburgh Open Studios tour was a testament to how far the arts have come in the City of Newburgh. The weekend started off on Friday evening at the Newburgh Brewing Company where the artists and their friends packed the joint. Photographer Ruedi Hofmann spent the evening engaging the artists at the entrance in a professional photo shoot.

The weather on Saturday and Sunday couldn't have been better as close to 700 people came out for the event. On Saturday afternoon the wonderful music of Neil Alexander and his band wafted out of the Foundry and bounced off the buildings for blocks around. The cafes and streets were bustling with tour-goers. All in all a weekend to remember!

Details for 2012 Newburgh Open Studios in the works

This year's Open Studios will showcase Newburgh artists and spaces in this fast-growing creative community. Currently we have about 30 artists participating, a large jump from last year's. The free self-guided tour will take place on Saturday, September 29 and Sunday, September 30 from 11:00am until 5:00pm each day. Maps will be available at Newburgh Art Supply starting at 10am on Saturday, September 29.

The new Newburgh Brewing Company has generously agreed to host this year's kick-off party that will be taking place on Friday, September 28 from 7:00pm-9:00pm. Meet the artists all in one place. Maps will be available at the party.
