Uart Sanded Pastel Paper- Now Fully Stocked
Uart sanded pastel paper is made locally in Spring Valley by a company that's specialized in sandpaper for over 40 years. It's acid free, has a very consistent surface from batch to batch and is useable with water media without deterioration. You won't find a better quality sanded pastel paper out there.
Comes in four distinct surface grades. Check out samples at the shop.
It's now also available professionally pre-mounted to conservation board with a 1/2" border. We have some sizes in stock but can be special ordered in other sizes in minimum quantities of 6 boards.

In the Press: Cheers!
Cheers to mid-Hudson people and businesses
Published: 2:00 AM - 10/24/11
To the artists of Newburgh for inviting the public for a look. While Beacon has become a prominent home for artists and patrons, Newburgh has had trouble luring that crowd across the bridge. Now, the same mix that spawned a thriving arts community in many New York City neighborhoods and in Beacon — affordable rents, large spaces, interesting architecture, eclectic neighborhoods — is leading to the rediscovery of Newburgh. To help spread the word, several artists got together and put on the event known as "Newburgh Open Studios," earlier this month. It provided a chance for people to meet artists, see their work and look inside some of the city's more interesting buildings.

Join us this weekend for Newburgh Open Studios. This is a unique opportunity to see the work of some of the artists in Newburgh's growing arts community. The studios are located in some amazing historic buildings, some of which are rarely open to the public. This will be a self-guided tour. Maps will be available starting on Saturday, October 15 at 10:00am at Newburgh Art Supply, 5 Grand Street. Although most of the venues will be within walking distance of the shop, there will be a shuttle bus running between the studios that are further away. Please join us for the kick-off party on Friday, October 14 from 7:00-9:00pm at the Wherehouse at 119 Liberty Street where you will get to meet most of the artists. The tour and the party are free events.
See the Newburgh Arts Calendar for more events this weekend in the City of Newburgh.
