Newburgh Open Studios (NOS) is organized by Michael Gabor—in honor of his late partner Gerardo Castro—and a team of volunteers. The tour grew out of their small business Newburgh Art Supply with the desire to promote and support the burgeoning arts community that’s grown around them.

They opened Newburgh Art Supply on Liberty Street in 2008 and it now occupies a historic building at 5 Grand Street, north of Washington’s Headquarters. The store keeps dependable hours and stocks a curated inventory of art supplies for students, dabblers and professionals.
